Students of Szent István University (SZIU), Buda Campus - Faculty of Horticultural Sciences, Faculty of Food Science, Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning - are accommodated in the Somogyi Imre Dormitory. We can provide 310 dormitory places for our students.
Each room is a shared room for two students with two beds, desks, chairs, bookcases, wardrobes and each room has its own bathroom. The toilet is on the corridor.

How do students gain admission to the dormitory?
Admission is based on social, academic and community criteria. Students may submit an application through the Neptun system.
For what period may students apply?
Students may apply for a 5-month or 10 month placement in a dormitory.
Can you choose your roommate?
Yes, you may state your preference in an email, ten days before moving in.
Who cleans the dormitories?
Common spaces are cleaned by the operator, while the rooms are cleaned by the students themselves.
Are guests allowed in the dormitory?
Yes, you may bring guests to the dormitory if you do not disturb your roommate. At the Somogyi Imre Dormitory, the visitor fee is 1.000 HUF / person / night, if the guest stay in the room after 11pm.
How far is the hostel from the university buildings?
The Somogyi Imre Dormitory is in the Buda Arboretum; university buildings are within a walking distance.
How can you get to the dormitory from the airport?
By public transport:
Public transport provides easy access to the city centre from Budapest Airport. The bus stop is located at the arrivals level between the two terminals.
Direct shuttle service 100E operates between the airport and the city centre, you should take off at Kálvin tér. Passengers require a special ticket for bus line100E: the airport shuttle bus single tickets costs 900 HUF, you can buy the ticket from ticket machines at the bus stop. Other types of tickets or passes are not accepted. The first bus leaves the airport at 5:00 a.m., while the last departure is at 1:20 a.m.; the service frequency is 20 minutes.
You should change at Kálvin tér to metro line M4 or tram lines 47/49 to Móricz Zsigmond körtér, from Móricz Zsigmond körtér to bus line 27 to Iglói út.

By taxi:
In Budapest the Taxi Decree is regulating the price of the taxis at a fixed tariff of 300 HUF/Km (0.95 EUR/Km) in addition to the one-off basic fee of 700 HUF (2.2 EUR) and waiting fee. A ride to the city centre should typically cost around 7200 HUF (26 EUR) depending on traffic conditions.
Please be aware of exposing yourself at risk by using non-regulated taxi service providers soliciting at the terminal buildings.How can you get to the dormitory?
The dormitory is close to Móricz Zsigmond square, it can be reached by bus number 27 in 10 minutes.
What kind of shops are nearby?
The Allee shopping centre (Interspar), Spar, Lidl and the Fehérvári street covered market are close to Móricz Zsigmond square. There are many restaurants, fast food places, banks, ATMs and drugstores in the vicinity.
